Hello, I heard about your work from a friend. My name is Marti Johnson and I am a Belmont University student and soon to be graduate. I'll be spending the summer in Gulu and Kampala, Uganda working with orphans and the displaced population. It's always amazing to hear about others who are working for this cause- especially a fellow Belmont grad.

I'm not sure where you are located or how long you will be in Uganda, but I thought it would be good for us to connect, at least virtually. I also have a blog about the work I have done/will be doing this summer if you'd like to check it out. It's www.girlinuganda.wordpress.com. Hope to hear from you.

Grace and peace,
Marti

Hi Katie...
I came across this quote today and immediately thought of you. It was said by a Christian man by the name of Ambroise Pare. He was a barber/surgeon in the 1500's in France.

"The light of a candle will not diminish no matter how many may come to light their torches by it."

How applicable to the work you are doing for the sake of Christ. I hope this encourages you today!

God in Heaven, Exalted One, Creator, Redeemer! You know Katie Davis, inside and out and you see her heart, for it mirrors Your Own righteous heart, I ask, beg, and plead with you today on her behalf that you would move mountains for her. Be her Strong High Tower, be her Mighty, Mighty Warrior, God Most High, Holy One, King of all our lives! Be a hedge about them and do not permit any thing any one that sets itself up against You or the knowledge of you to have any presence or influence there!!
God please bind your spiritual enemies from her midst immediate and broad, and cast them into the pit of hell.
God, please lift her up in this hour and give her strength, More of Your infinite understanding, wisdom, insight, discernment, rest, peace, spunk, and speed! Save them from the hands of the enemies. Father save our sister and your children not on her or our merit but because of Your Holy name and who You are, for we are called by Your name and are utterly Yours. God, cover her with the blood of Jesus and make her and the children invisible to Your enemies !!! Bless her God and lift her up, give her favor Lord and (humble) clout. We bless You oh Lord, you are magnificent and infinitely Holy and full of grace! You are our satisfaction and portion and You alone are the fullfillment of all our longings desires cravings needs and delights!! Praise You Jehovah!!!!

Katie, thank you SO much for this wonderful look into what God is doing in your life and in the lives of these beautiful children! I stumbled across your blog a couple days ago and read the whole thing like a book... You are such an amazing example of how God uses each of us to fulfill his purpose; how with faith we can all accomplish things bigger than we could ever imagine. I'll be praying for you and your children, and I can't wait to check back to see how God is continuing to move in Uganda.

Katie, I do not know you, but have come to know your heart through the blogs of the Putty Family and Emily "Team" Alexander. I pray for you constantly for your peace and safety and that you get rest. I only have two children and often feel overwhelmed and it only takes a few minutes reading yoru blog to calm me down and realize,"I can do this, just look at Katie!" You are an angel on this earth. Praying for you.

WE are soo thrilled to see the pictures, and know that God is working in such a powerful way through you and your children!!!! We continue to pray for you. We are directors at a church camp...I know it is a nonessential to go to camp for the week, but I know how powerful God's message is here...how many children give thier lives to Christ...how many campers make lifetime commitments to Him to serve Him to praise Him...and I love it!!! I love being a useful tool for Him! I pray that all of our campers this summer will seek God & FIND HIM!!!

Wow! You are amazing and inspiring. May your work inspire me to be a better missionary here in my own little world.
I have a friend who is currently in Uganda staying in an apartment with her sweet baby Michael waiting for some type of final paperwork, in order for her adoption to be final. She is praying it will be any day. She has been there for many weeks. Her husband had to fly home to go back to work, so she is there with Michael by herself (first time Mom). They are Rick & Teresa Morse.
